NBSKE NATIONAL BRANCHES

For better management of the national events, the directorate of NBSKE has decided to open some branches in different European countries, delegating the management to a local member chosen among effective members.
During the Italian National Congress (Abano Terme 16-17-18 March 2007) the first branch had been created in Holland and its leading member is Carlos van der Vaart.

Tsukiyama ( sea of trees )

The 8th and the 9th of September there was the Dutch National Convention 2007 held in a small city called Zevenhuizen.
This event was organized by the NBV, the National Bonsai Federation Holland, this federation is build out of fourteen local clubs all located over Holland and mainly one of the local clubs, called Zuid-Holland was the organizer of this event.
Besides presentations there were new talent contests, demonstrations and all kind of Japanese things like calligraphy and sushi stands.
This National event is the biggest event in Holland and was organized for the all weekend, fourteen clubs had the possibility to present there best trees, because they had ten meters to there own way to furfull.
Also the NBSKE Holland branch had there first show, also ten meters and the members worked hard to make it to success one.
The exibition was for the members of the NBSKE the first time that they presented their trees and it was already a big success, we were the only one with a presentation without names, only the logo was showed, the trees were as natural as possible and we were there as club out of competition of all things, it was a little bit difficult to show the beauty of the trees in this autumn season, because it was a big sport building, and there was not a lot of light, but the event had two thousand visitors, most of them were bonsai lovers, and the NBSKE had also a separate presentation to spread the word, were its all about and a lot of people were very interested.

Most of the people were impressed by the natural way the trees were presented, no wire and beautiful, specially the Callicarpa and the Ilex
were very spotted by a lot of people, because of this success the NBSKE Holland branch will work even harder together hand in hand for the next time to present the second show for the NBSKE.
